Good listening skills are critical to effective communication. In order to do that you must listen to understand what others are trying to share. Stephen Covey said it so well in habit #5 in “THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE”. “Seek first to understand, then to be understood”.
Listening to understand another’s view is vital to good communication. If we have empathy as well, we can then build a good base for effective, real communication.
